Mairi-Luise Tabbakh Photographer

It’s been an explosive year for Mairi-Luise Tabbakh as she brings her work to the public’s notice in her first headlining exhibition at Imitate Modern in Marylebone. It’s a fantastic time for Mairi to be expanding her work into the gallery scene as she has established herself as a successful feature photographer with a varied and promising future.

In a joint exhibition titled ‘Human Relations’, she has proven her work can stand out in a gallery space as much as it does on a magazine cover. The exhibition also features work by Fenton Bailey and was curated by his brother Sascha Bailey. Mairi’s sensual, black and white erotic photographs were the talk of the show, and were incredibly popular with collectors looking to invest in emerging talent.

Mairi’s clientele already includes Lord Bath, who liked her work so much he later posed for her ‘Wonderland’ series. Another significant collector of her work is Damien Hirst, who bought three pieces from the 'Human Relations' collection after being hugely impressed with the show – quite an enviable debut for any artist.

Last year, she exhibited a selection of her work in Paris at the collaborative ‘I Want Your Picture’ show, attended by Hollywood elite, including Jared Leto. Mairi recently photographed British actor Max Irons for a feature in Fault magazine and even has an upcoming shoot with Jonathon Rhys Meyers, but all that is only the beginning.

Mairi-Luise Tabbakh is gaining recognition and praise for her striking and sensual style. She is fast becoming a leading light in the genre of erotic photography, taking on the flair of Helmut Newton and working her way up. For the moment, Mairi’s name may only be known in inner circles, but the future is bright for this black and white photographer, certainly making her one to watch.
